Sunrooms

A beautiful addition that lets you enjoy the outdoors all year, without being exposed to all of the elements.

Charlotte weather is made for a room like this.

Why homeowners add one

A sunroom is the cheapest square footage most homes will ever gain, and the most used. Ours are built as proper living space, tied into the existing roofline and brickwork so they read as part of the original house.

  • Natural light through most of the day, which cuts what you spend on lighting and simply feels better to sit in
  • Extra living space that works as a dining room, a lounge or somewhere to put the good chairs
  • Privacy, with a quiet corner of the house for reading, yoga or working away from everyone else

1

Light Without The Elements

Glazing and orientation planned so the room fills with daylight but still stays comfortable through a Carolina summer.

2

A Room You Use Daily

Sized and finished as genuine living space, whether that ends up being a dining room, a lounge or somewhere quiet to read.

3

Tied Into The House

Rooflines, brick and trim are matched to the original house, so the addition reads as part of it rather than bolted onto the back.

4

One Year, Wall To Wall

Your sunroom carries our one-year warranty covering all aspects of the project.

Our design-build process

Every project is its own journey, so ours is built to carry you from the first conversation through to the final walk-through without surprises.

STEP 01

Consultation

Tell us about your project, then we talk it through by phone and meet you at home to look at the space and your goals.

STEP 02

Design

We draw the plans, walk the showroom with you to choose cabinetry, and show the room back to you in 3-D before anything is ordered.

STEP 03

Build

A pre-job walk-through sets expectations, then you get a written update every week until the final reveal walk-through.

STEP 04

Manage

We photograph the finished space and hand over the one-year wall-to-wall warranty that covers every part of the job.

Questions, answered

The things Charlotte homeowners ask us most before starting a remodel.

We are based in Charlotte, NC and work throughout the surrounding region, including Matthews, Waxhaw, Weddington, Marvin and the wider South Charlotte area. If you are not sure whether your street falls inside our range, call us and ask. It is a quick answer and we would rather tell you straight away than have you wonder.

Every GJK project carries a one-year wall-to-wall warranty covering all aspects of the work we completed. It matters to us that you are happy with your project long after the crew has packed up, so if something needs attention inside that first year, you call us and we come back out.

Yes. We are a full-service design-build contractor, which means the same company draws your plans, helps you choose cabinetry and finishes, and then builds the project. You are not managing a designer and a builder separately, and nothing gets lost in the handover between them.

Most people come to us with either a clear picture of what they want or a clear number they are willing to spend. Our job is to find the innovative route to the first without breaking the second. Your proposal includes specific allowances for the big variables such as countertops, plumbing fixtures and lighting, so you can see where the money sits before work starts.

You will get a written project update every week covering what was accomplished and what is scheduled next. Before we start there is a pre-job walk-through roughly two weeks out, and when construction finishes we walk the whole project with you for the reveal.

Kitchens, bathrooms, sunrooms, outdoor living spaces, home additions and whole-home remodels. Some clients come to us for one room, others for a second story or a full reconfiguration of how the house works. If you are weighing up whether your idea is worth doing, that is exactly what the first conversation is for.
